Can I draw Cartoons of Animals?

I know you can't draw animals in Islam, but can you draw cartoon animals?

The Answer

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahamtu Allah wa Barakatuh,

 

Generally speaking, no drawing of any creature with soul is allowed even in a cartoon form. Exceptions are for  medical illustration purposes. Drawing without faces (or with niqab) is allowed and drawing parts of the body such as an eye or ear is allowed as well.
